Quest for scenery
I’m an avid photographer, and in the past few days I have booked a few weddings, high school senior and family portraits – that will span over the next few months. I’m looking for scenery, something different but unique for background shots. Besides the beautiful scenery of downtown Denver… where is some of your favorite places that you like visit that says to you “photographic scenery”?
Taken at Washington Park, for Becky Young Photography
There are so many beautiful parks just in Denver. That amazing little park on Speer, about 1 block west of Downing with all the flowers that bloom is one of my favorites.
And the architecture over in Cheeseman Park lends it self to some great photo backdrops.
I like the scenery of the open plains with lots of sky and open space. There’s always the mountain backdrops if you want to drive to Boulder (Flatirons, Chautauqua). Oh, and coming east on I-70 from the mountains where the views open up to the city and that reminds me of Evergreen Lake. Capitol Hill and the Botanical Gardens..
Here’s a map for Denver open spaces if you want more nature.
Oh yes the open space areas…so much to work with!!! My last photo shoot was up in Red Rocks then we ventured over through Clear Creek Canyon. There is a really nice spot a few miles up 119 where you can get close to the water and have some beautiful backdrops of mountains, water, boulders or trees.
I think too many times, us locals tend to forget the beautiful mountain backdrop we have because we look at it day in, day out.
The City Park Pavillion is nice. So is Cheesman Park. In Boulder, Chatauqua Park is great, as is the downtown and Tea House.
