Now it’s even easier to write for us!

The old system was rather… well…. a serious pain in the ass!

I’d ask for volunteers, get comments back, collect them, email those interested with the guidelines, then take those that I didn’t scare off and email the boss cc’ing the potential new writer. The last step would be him, at some point, replying and setting up new writer with an account, etc.

NOW..

I ask for volunteers. People register to comment, say they’re interested, I give the details (below) and then I, Me, on my own, can flip their commenter account, to be a writer account, and, as Emeril says, “BAM” the metblog has a new author.

so the guidelines, you gotta be willing to write 3 times a week about Denver. ok, that’s all. :)

Perks? Aside of fame, notoriaty, your name on the intertubes, and the bragging rights to say, “I’m a metblog author” to your friends… well that’s about it :) You get to write, with a great group of local bloggers, get your name and your words out there, and hey, if we top and of the metblog charts, there’s prizes, drinks on me!

If you’ve got something to say, about the Denver Metro and surrounding areas leave a comment. For those that responded to my last call, re-up! I missed the deadline for adding folks to the new system, so now, fer-realz, you’ll be in!

Interested?

It’s all new and I’m afraid!

Hey… thought I’d pop a little note in recognizing the new look. I dig it. I at least dig the Wordpress platform.

As a little preview, I’ll be writing a report this week on the 1st Annual Mountain Region Barista Competition. I’d do it now, but I’m still jittery from consuming an ungodly amount of espresso.

Cha cha changes…

As you may have noticed, the Denver Metblog has a nice shiny new look… We were an old warehouse loft in LoDo, now we’re all Glass House and stuff.

All the old content and comments are here, of course, and everything will work the same as before, sans one thing… Comments.

For better or worse, the new system requires commenters to register . The bad, no more posts from our friend Anonymous. The good, when people are interested in writing for the metblog, it’s much easier to set them up. Quite literally a flick of the wrist, vs. the older do the hokey pokey, turn yourself around, and wait a week or two for Sean (the head honcho) to get back to you. So that’s good.

So… writing for the Metblog. Valerie, if you’re still interested, let me know. I missed the window and there was a new writer sign up freeze. That should be lifting soon. The rest of you that expressed an interest, I never heard back when I emailed you how it all works, drop a comment if you’re interested.

Ok all, back to work, we got bloggin’ to do!

I can haz new internets?

Totally, like OMG!  We haz new look! They even shined up the software!  I’ve been secretly praying they’d go to Wordpress and drop Movable Type like a jilted lover (not that I have a bias in any way) and we have it!  Praise the internet gods and goddesses!  Welcome back to Denver Metro Blogs!  Wootini!

How do you like “teh look”?  I’m digging it and knowing from my secret super awesome undercover emailz from the higher ups that this is just..*insert dramatic John Williams orchestra swell* the beginning.

A short review of what’s been going on in Denver since I last posted.  Snow, cold, sun then backhand from mother nature with snow and cold..and then a 70 degree Saturday…followed by blizzard Sunday.  Ready for spring!  So ready for those awesome thunderstorms.

Also, Video Blogging will be coming back by next month.  I’ve got some ideas and stuff to do so keep an eye out on that.  Meanwhile, enjoy the new pretty look.  I promise I won’t take crayons to the walls.   Too much.
