A neat way to have food at a party

It was my wife’s birthday the other day and we wanted to have a party at our new place. The problem with having a party at our place… Pot luck? Catering? We spend the day cooking?

None of those options really appealed to us, so my wife hit up a connection from Denver Divas (women out there, you should look into this. It’s a group of business women that get together, talk, drink, pillow fight, whatever. I’ve never been, for obvious reasons, but check it out).

We had heard about in home catering so we looked into that, and ended up having Michelle of Mangia Chef come out and whip up some truly kick ass finger foods and snacks. It’s a pretty slick deal, she finds out what you want, region wise, and amount of food-wise, number of people etc, then shows up with her own pots and pans, and ingredients, and goes to town.

The party got started, our friends arrived, she put everything onto our dishes for eatin’ and cleaned up the kitchen and bowed out. It was very cool and really nice not to worry about cleaning up the kitchen and stuff.

So if you’re looking for an alternative to BYOF, or Quiznos catering, the whole Chef comes to you thing is pretty cool, check it out. I can only speak from a single experience so far, but I know we’ll be doing our future parties this way. Wanna come? :)
