There’s No Place Like Home

Although, I am unsure of why this is, but sometimes I just don’t want to deal with downtown Denver. I love being downtown, the atmosphere, the people, the parking. Oh wait, the parking sucks. I consider myself a lucky girl, to now live within walking (or stumbling) distance of the new Westminster Lodo’s Bar and Grill. No more fighting the downtown crowds and parking.

So okay, maybe the downtown location is the *best* but have you seen the Westminster locations patio? The views of the Front Range are just stunning, which forces you to spend too much time gazing out onto the Flatirons, thus causing your food to get cold. It doesn’t get much better than this (not the cold food part). Just another reason why I love Denver.

I suppose the point of this post is to say that, I *heart* Denver. It’s taken me a few years to adjust and grow to love this area, but I know that I’ll probably never leave.

What’s brought on this confession of love, you ask? My dearest husband and I recently being held, against our will I might add, in a foreign communist country (that sounds a bit more dramatic than it really was, but still true). I kept saying to myself, GET ME HOME TO DENVER. During those few days, there was no where else I wanted to be. I just wanted to be back in safe, comfortable, loving Denver. If only I could have just tapped my sparkling red shoes together … There’s no place like home.

I am glad to finally be back in Denver. Now, who wants a drink? I hear a new Lodo’s is open.

DenverCast Episode 1

It’s better than the first version and it’s getting there. Nicole and Jason have thrown in their interest so this should slowly pick up steam. In the video, I talk about the RockyMountainRollerGirls. You can find them here and the schedule. I’ll be at the Saturday game at Fat City. If you can come and check it out it’s gonna be interesting!

Fast Food Goes Green in North Boulder

When I blogged Leaf and challenged y’all to name another fully vegetarian restaurant in Boulder, you did not let me down. The very first comment pointed me to V.G. Burgers, and it was an excellent recommendation.

“Real food. Real good. Real fast.” Indeed.

This is the corner where V.G.'s is.

Fellow Metrobloggers

Folks, you’ve probably been tracking this story since it broke yesterday. My stomach dropped and my heart froze when I heard the news. It felt worse when I saw the pictures and videos that showed the destruction. Coming in the midst of the afternoon rush hour didn’t help things.
