It’s a slow news day
and I’m having trouble coming up with a three letter word for ‘flightless bird.’ It’s also nearing the end of July, which means only one thing: Lot’s of noise! I shouldn’t complain too much, because the Grand Prix does guarantee me at least one day of telecommuting this August. I think they had an amateur go-cart racing circuit one year, but thus far I don’t see anything on their site. Thinking about it kind of has me jonesing though…
Oh yeah, Paul is playing tonight so I’ll probably find myself there.
Update after the fold.
So many things to say, so few readers interested in the minutiae of my life. This addendum to my post was originally titled “I’m just here for The Band” but I decided it didn’t stand on it’s own:
Yes, that was a Dylan reference, sort of. I am composing this post as I sit here watching them play, but of course there aren’t any more open wireless access points. So much for the Roaring 2000s. For those of you that didn’t already know, the Highlands really is a hip neighborhood. Honest. Kyle can speak to that point a little more. Me, I didn’t think you could hear such great jazz in Denver other than at the ‘Pec.
So it turns out I could only spend a half an hour at Mead Street because I got double booked for a bachelor party the same night. Eventually we ended up at Shelter which is one of the better gothish club scenes I’ve explored (I don’t know if it’s technically a goth club, but it sure seemed like one on a Wednesday). Lo and behold, it also happens to share a building with Beatport, which is intensely cool. Gotta go, there’s a cute goth girl who thinks she’s dancing to something “too modern to be INXS.”
Update after I got home: It was actually a remix of Depeche Mode’s It’s No Good, but I can’t decide if the girl was being nice, or if she was just dumb. She had really bad teeth, so I’m guessing the former, but who knows.
For the LiveJournal fans that are still reading, I am currently listening to the Life Aquatic soundtrack before I go to bed.

alos wanted to point denver metblog readers out to this site: http://www.digdenver.com
Actually, I was looking for gnu but you’re not the first to guess wrong. Also, thanks for the Tic-Tac-Toe plug on your site! It’s hard getting incredibly fun games that no one has ever played before started.
